Tiger Woods has won yet another title in the form of Australian Masters to rack up his honor. Woods blasted a final round 68 at the historic layout in Melbourne to beat Chalmers (70) by two shots. On the all important final Sunday, Woods managed to come up with a birdie to put things right after a not so good Saturday. The champion hit successive birdies at five and six under good signaling his intent to go in for the title while he also hit the shot of the day at the par-five 12th when he fired a fairway wood from 268 metres to nearly just four metres of the flag which was a treat to watch. Tiger was kept on his toes by Chalmers who also came up with a couple of early birdies. But failure to convert gilt-edged birdie hurt the 36-year-old who ended up with 2nd place finish while a three-metre birdie putt at the 142-metre par-three 15th sealed the title for Woods. Delamontagne of France boosted himself at rounds 68 and 69 to share third place on 10-under with American Jason Dufner. While defending champion Rod Pampling only managed a 14th place finish. Tiger Woods’ victory also meant that the hefty investment made by Victorian Government was completely worthwhile. But for Tiger the title just adds to another star up his sleeve.
